About the Journal

As part of the vision and innovation of the Faculty of Basic Medical Scienecs, University of Ibadan to be a leading player in research and dissemination of research output in the University, it was envisioned by the faculty given its avalanche of human and academic resources to have a journal to serve as a medium for disseminating scientific information locally and internationally. It was also conceived that it would serve as medium for reporting and documenting selected papers presented at our Unibadan Conference of Biomedical Research. The University of Ibadan and the National University Commission, (Nigeria)are in favour of indigenous peer reviewed academic journals and scholarly books written by Nigerian based authors. Following series of discussion at the faculty boards and at several committees, a Faculty based journal named Archives of Basic and Applied Medicine emerged in 2013 with its maiden edition published in October 2013. The journal is published both in print and also online three times a year (February, June and October). The review system is entirely Internet based. The website of the journal is www.archivesbamui.com
